The Electric Nature returns to Already Dead with 'Plastic Mind', an archival release of sorts, featuring recordings from 2009-2010. On its face the album is an engaging krautrock-trip-hop hybrid with heavy psychedelia and electronica influences. However, closer listening reveals the album's primitive and even unconventional creative and recording process, and the dark meditative exercise that the album's creation was for Michael Potter, the album's lone author. An old Dell computer, a half broken Squier strat, and an earbud turned microphone comprise Potter's 'studio' for these recordings, but you'd never know that given the albums depth and surprisingly slick production, aided even further by the mastering of Grant Richardson at Hex Audio Labs. As a long-time fan and friend of Potter, these are some of my very favorite recordings to come from The Electric Nature, and I'm proud to share them via Already Dead.
